Our Values
Pamoja
How we work, decide, and build together
Pamoja is a Swahili word meaning together. For Last Mile Climate, it describes how we believe real solutions to complex climate challenges are built: across geographies, disciplines, and lived experience.
Why We Exist
The people most affected by climate change are often the least heard in decisions about it. We exist to change that - not by speaking for them, but by building systems and capabilities that bring their voice, knowledge, and agency to the centre.

1. Stewardship Over Spend
Our Values
Every decision must earn its place
We treat time, money, and attention as precious because they are entrusted to us for impact. We invest deliberately in what creates leverage such as skills, relationships, systems and let go of what does not.
2. Climate Integrity
Our footprint must always be smaller than our impact
We hold ourselves to the same climate standards we advocate for, while staying focused on real-world outcomes. We minimise our footprint, measure what matters, and redesign work that does not move the needle.
3. Collective Ownership
The best person to lead is the one closest to the problem
4. Professional Excellence
Good intentions are the starting point – sincere effort and execution the standard
Titles describe roles, not whose opinion matters most. We push decisions toward the people with the most relevant knowledge and create space for initiative, local judgement, and bottom-up leadership.
We hold ourselves to high standards and raise them continuously. We stay curious, use the best tools available, give and receive feedback directly, and take responsibility for work that is rigorous, credible, and useful.
